How the two-step draft and deploy workflow protects your business from accidental website lockouts

Changing firewall settings can feel intimidating if you are worried about accidentally typing the wrong number and blocking real customers. WebOptiva prevents this with a mandatory two-step staging workflow.

Step 1: Work in your private Draft space#

When you add, edit, or delete a subnet rule, your changes are kept in a private draft staging area. Your live website continues running on your previous settings with zero interruption. You can take your time adding multiple rules or adjusting notes without affecting any active visitors.

Step 2: Review the staged rules#

The Subnet Policy Rules table lists every rule for the selected scope, and the header shows N Total Subnet Rules Staged when you have undeployed changes. Check the CIDR range, action, target scope, and note for each row before publishing.

Step 3: Deploy with one click#

Once you have verified the list, click Save Draft and then Deploy changes. WebOptiva validates the formatting and synchronizes the updated rules to all global edge nodes within two seconds. If you ever change your mind, you can remove a staged rule before deploying.
